After the loss of Kate Spade, I felt I needed to talk about my thoughts on the reactions I’ve seen about her death by suicide. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma concerning mental illness and I hope by sharing my personal experience with depression and suicidal thoughts it can encourage and inform others about the topic.
Be mindful that I am Christian and so my views on mental health are also impacted by my beliefs. You don’t have to agree with it but be respectful.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:12-13
