When you are trapped in the wilderness you walk around not knowing what will happen each day. Every second is an unexpected adventure which brings no expectation of what you will be doing next or what mood you will be in. There is no one to talk to when you are stranded in the wilderness alone. No one that physically understands or hears you. Insecurities and fears become taller than the trees. The days are sometimes rainy, foggy or clear but the nights are always damp and cold. When you are lost in the woods your thoughts are loud and clear. You are more sensitive to the uncomfortable state of not only your body but also your mind.
I want to thank those people who have met me in the woods. They haven’t said I was crazy yet and have been a great support. Because of you guys, I’m holding on.
